Beginning Your Own Business

My name is Harry and this is my first blog. I live in Perth with my wife and our pet dog. I am 53 years old and for the last 20 years, I have worked at the local auto repair and manufacturing plant. Working on the shop floor can be a lot of fun but after 2 decades, I have grown a little tired of it all. My brother-in-law suggested I think about starting my own business making and repairing specialist auto parts. I explained that you could fit my knowledge of business onto the back of a stamp. He said that he could fix that and invited me to spend 6 months tour his different businesses to see how they work. I learnt so much that I just had to share it with the rest of the world.

Repurposing Electronic Devices to Save Business Costs

With advances in technology, the electronic devices you have in your business become obsolete after two years or slightly more. As manufacturers continue to listen to consumer needs, works are always underway for the launch of newer versions that are compatible with current business needs. The scenario has led to an increase in the number of disposable electronic devices in businesses, and proprietors do not know how to dispose of them. Pet House

If you prefer having your pet in your workplace, then an old computer will come in handy. With a little bit of creativity, you can save on the cost of buying a pet house by turning one into a pet house. The first step is to remove all circuits, wires, and boards inside the shell until you are left with an empty display unit (monitor). Next, remove the screen and then paint the outside of the casing to reflect the character of your cat. Finish off by placing a cushion in it for comfort. If you allow employees to bring pets to work, then you can motivate them by providing comfort to their pets, which might increase their productivity. 

Photo Frames

There is no denying the fact people today do not keep photo frames in their homes. The reason is that advancement in technology has enabled us to store hundreds of photos on our phones and tablets. However, you can quickly turn your tablet into a digital photo frame for your workplace. For instance, if you have an older tablet, you can delete every bit of information in it and leave just the album active. Once you are left with the photos, you can just set the tablet to slideshow mode and rest it on your office table. You can also decide to hang the tablet on the workplace wall in the kitchen area where all employees have access. Turning the tablet into a picture frame will free up room on the table and walls in the office thereby improving office aesthetics. 

File Cabinet

Filing cabinets are necessary for any office. However, instead of going for the traditional wooden or metallic filing cabinets, then why not convert your old computer cases or monitors into filing cabinets. For example, stack several empty CPU cases on each other, and you have yourself a filing cabinet. You can also turn part of the empty cases into a bookshelf for small-sized books. Therefore, the next time you want to replace your cabinets, remember first to check if you have old monitors and CPU cases.
